http://www.thredup.com/ - using USPS flat rate boxes that the site sends to you, pack up a box of your kids old clothes and post it, when someone wants it, print out the shipping label from the site (free) and send it. you can buy boxes for $15.95 when all is said and done and have them shipped right to you...it's pretty cool and eliminates the annoyance of taking it all to a consignment store just to have almost everything rejected do to market saturation.

ROUND THE HOUSE - 1950's Lustron Home Exhibit

The Ohio Historical Society opened it's newest exhibit on the 13th of July.  Inside the Ohio History Center itself is a full size, original, pre-fabricated 1950's Lustron Home.  You can take a tour, sit on the couch, play a record, and other stuff you shouldn't be able to do in a museum.

Days/Hours - Wednesday - Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 12pm to 5pm
Admission - $10/adults; $9/seniors; $5/children 7 to 12; free/children 6 and under.

(it will be on exhibit for the next 5 years)

Layering skirts and aprons and dresses is a thing I have been doing lately. I am attracted to the feeling of the heavy layers, reminiscent of a long ago era, without being bogged down by layers of itchy crinolines or starched underskirts. I just love the feel of them swooshing as I walk...it feels so luxurious.
